LaVerne was born in Neshoba County, MS on January 9, 1938 to Carrie and Henry Williamson. She attended MSCW and graduated with her Bachelor’s in Home Economics.
LaVerne married Jack and together they had two children, Jacqueline E. Bailey and William J. Elsesser. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and church activities. LaVerne was also a proud member of Briarwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Jacqueline and William (Stephanie), grandchildren, Anne Marie (Tyler), Trey (Linsey), Sarah (Will), and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack, and his parents; and her siblings and their spouses.
Funeral services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS on Sunday, March 10 at 11:00 am. Visitation for LaVerne will take place prior to the funeral service at Parkway Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Graveside service to follow funeral service at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
