

Leila Ogden Wilder was born April 4, 1930 in Bogalusa, LA. She was raised in Sulligent, AL where she had many fond childhood memories. She graduated from Gulf Park High School in Gulfport, MS and attended Stephens College and The University of Alabama.
She made her home in Jackson where she was a loving mother and homemaker. She took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow and was a source of comfort and inspiration. She had an unwavering faith in God and was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, MS, where she belonged to the Chapel Sunday School Class. She was a member of several women’s clubs. One of her favorite activities was playing bridge with her close friends. She especially enjoyed her Saturday morning breakfast outings with her husband and numerous special friends. She will be remembered by her generosity to many charities.
She passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the age of 85 at her home surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Wilder, and her parents, Samuel Frederick Ogden and Dorothy Nash Ogden. She is survived by her four children, Allen Hollis, Anne Krantz (Bruce), Mary Kay Catchings (Wendell), and Tricia Weissinger; her seven grandchildren, Taylor Phillips (Katie), Kaitlin Krantz, Tara Parker (James), Parker Thompson, Laney Thompson, Nathan Weissinger, Connor Weissinger; and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to send a loving thank you to Homecare Hospice of Brandon, MS and Senior Home Care for their attention and care.
A visitation will be held from 2 – 4 PM Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Graveside service at 10 AM on Monday, November 2, 2015 held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Boulevard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to First Baptist Church of Jackson, MS and to the Wounded Warrior Project.
