Linda Spivey Pillow

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland followed by funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Following the funeral, a graveside service will take place at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, Mississippi at 3:00 p.m.

Born on September 20, 1949, Linda grew up in Jackson and Brookhaven. She attended Murrah High School then moved with parents, Harvey Gerald “Jerry” Adcock and Juanita “Nita” Wactor Adcock, to Brookhaven where she graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1967. After earning a Master’s Degree from Mississippi State, she came back to Jackson to teach at Galloway Elementary School in Jackson, MS and continued to work in education until retiring in the mid-1980s.

Linda enjoyed tennis, flowers and ballroom dancing. She was a wonderful wife, fantastic mother and a highly enthusiastic grandmother. Her grandchildren called her “Gracie”.

Linda spent the last nine years of her life in a battle with cancer. She fought it with everything she had. Her husband, Bob Pillow, stood by her side to the very end. But death has no sting for those who believe in Jesus Christ. Linda’s faith was plainly evident in her love and devotion for her Lord and Savior in both the good times and the bad. She left strict instructions that her funeral should be a little about her and a lot about Jesus.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Lydia and Barnabas Spivey and her son Dan Spivey of Jackson; her siblings Todd Adcock (Jennifer) of Brookhaven and Leigh Stewart (Brad) of Starkville; her faithful husband Bob Pillow, his children Rob Pillow of Washington D.C. and Jane Critz Long (Will) of Indianola, and her children Mary Critz Long and Lawrence Long; Linda’s nieces and nephews Mary Todd Gordon (Nick) of Florence, AL, Clark Pittman Jr. (Lexi) of Memphis, and Sam, Robert and Sarah Todd Adcock of Brookhaven.
