

Lois Smith Griffin, 90, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 in Jackson, MS.
Lois was born in Houston, AR on Mar. 4, 1924, to Freddie Thomas and Eula Pedigo Smith. She worked at the VA Hospital for 30 years. After retirement, she set up her own business, Mid-South Transcription Center, which she ran quite successfully for almost 15 years. Lois also sold real estate for Century 21 and she was a Mary Kay Cosmetics Consultant.
She enjoyed traveling and making ceramics. At the age of 70, she enrolled in oil painting classes which she enjoyed tremendously. She has been an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was very dedicated to teaching, Bible studies, WMU, and home ministries.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Thadeus H. Griffin. She is survived by her son, Thomas L. Griffin of Richland, MS; her grandson, Thomas Brian Griffin of Pearl, MS; and her granddaughter, Alicia (Trae) Baham; two great-grandchildren, Will and Annalyn Baham, all of Madison, Mississippi; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm Wednesday, Oct. 8, and 9am to 10am Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at Parkway Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10am, followed by burial at Lakewood Memorial Park. Rev. Brian Wright, Pastor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, will officiate.
