Malcolm “Mac” Taylor Edwards, 73, died Thursday August 25, 2011 at his home in Brandon, MS after a brief but courageous fight with brain cancer. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am Saturday August 27, 2011 at St. Columb’s Episcopal Church. Visitation will be from 5-7pm today and 10am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Edwards was a graduate of both Forest Hill High School and Mississippi State University. He retired from Eaton Corporation after 35 years of service. Along with being a devoted fan of Mississippi State athletics, Malcolm was an avid golfer who spent most of his time on the course with his friends.
Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his son, David; his parents, Pauline and Jack; and his sister, Anne Hamil. Malcolm is survived by his beloved wife and best-friend of over 50 years, Bettye; his sister, Peggy Tinney; his son, Jeff and his wife, Alicia; his son, Todd and his wife, Shelley; his five grandchildren, Adam, Tanner, Amy, Kenna, and Helena; his great granddaughter, Izzy; and his much-loved canine companion, Beau.
