Marjan Čibej lived a full life in two continents of the world; Idrija, Slovenia in Europe, and Jackson, MS, USA in North America. He was a true American; immigrating from Slovenia in 2017, he came to further his horizons and education. Many new friends and relationships were created by this remarkable 39-year-old’s fearlessness in pursuing his goals. He loved learning and discovering new horizons. In many photos of him from his childhood you will see him with his nose in a book.
In his thirst for knowledge, he gained two Masters of Law degrees (one in both continents), worked for Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Kitchens, and with Brent Hazzard law firm in Mississippi. He became a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, successfully navigated the road to citizenship in the USA by himself, as well as becoming an accomplished ski, kick boxing, and karate instructor. He created a home with his wife, and was planning to start a family in the United States.
Marjan’s family are his Mother Ljudmila C. Boltar, Father Sandro Boltar, and his younger brothers Mirko and Rok. Many relatives of Marjan’s live in Slovenia, and now new family of Marjan’s live in the United States; his wife Claire Rose, his parents-in-law Julian and Ethel Rose, and many friends in Europe and North America. He was lifted into the Lord’s arms while swimming in the sea, something that he has enjoyed all his life, with someone he decided to make his life companion. Marjan was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia and passed away in Ocean Springs, MS. A service to memorialize and honor Marjan will be held at the St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Jackson, MS on Sept. 22 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation at 10:00 AM. Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS is helping with arrangements.
