Marjorie was born in Evansville, Indiana on November 22, 1916 to Ina M. Williams Wilson and Thomas Chester Wilson. She graduated with an R.N. from Protestant Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN and from Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City, NJ. She obtained her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing. She was also a veteran of World War II, and served as Lt. Commander of the U.S. Navy.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, William Webster “Webb” Burke, Jr.; son, William Webster Burke, III, and brother, Carlos Chester Wilson, as well as her parents. She is survived by her son, Thomas Wilson Burke; daughter, Carol Burke Givens; step-daughter, Diane Burke Hutson; two granddaughters, five grandsons, three great granddaughters, and three great grandsons.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lakewood Memorial Park South, on McCluer Road in Jackson.
