
Martha was born in Durham, North Carolina, on September 17, 1956, to Drs. Claude and Sara McClure. She graduated from Burges High School in El Paso, Texas, in 1974, and was a member of the Burges Mustangs tennis team.
In 1978, Martha graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Administration. While at Carolina, she met her husband, Marcus M. Wilson. Following their wedding in 1979, she joined Marcus in Jackson, Mississippi, where she worked at Packard Electric for ten years as an industrial engineer.
Martha loved the doctrine of God’s sovereignty, family, tennis, decorating, organizing, and Tar Heel basketball.
Martha is survived by her husband, Marcus M. Wilson, of Flowood, Mississippi; her three children, Marcus (Kathryn) Wilson Jr. of College Park, Maryland, Andrew (Paige) Wilson of Madison, Mississippi, and Sara Frances (Christopher) Rezendes of Atlanta, Georgia; her mother, Dr. Sara Courts McClure, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; her sister, Dr. Frances E. McClure, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Claude McClure Jr., and her brother, Claude McClure III.
Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Mississippi, on Thursday, March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Mississippi, on Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m. A graveside service will be held at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday, March 16, at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Mississippi, or Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
