

Maurice King, Jr., of Clinton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on September 25, 1933, in Osceola, Arkansas. His parents were Maurice King, Sr and Emma Dell King. He was the oldest of five children and lived in Arkansas until his teenage years. The family moved to Mississippi in 1948, where they resided in Aberdeen. Maurice joined the Navy in 1950 when he was seventeen years old. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
Maurice attended Hinds Jr. College and enrolled in their trade school, which he completed in 1956. He went to work for REA Power & Light company where he was employed until 1958. In 1958 Maurice went into business for himself and was self-employed for the remainder of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Emma Dell King; his wife, Mary Frances King; his brother, Billy King; his sisters, Virginia Arnold and Jeanette Coleman; and his grandson, Steven King (Rachel).
He is survived by two sons, Mike King (Cindy) and Bruce King (Lisa); sister, Nancy Sebren; grandchildren, Christy Martin (Chris), Kevin Coates, Kasie Morris (Adam), and Kelly Alexander (Austin). Great grandchildren, Will Martin, Kaelyn Martin, Molly King, and Brantley Morris.
He is also survived by stepdaughter, Beverly Emerson (Tom), Stepson Lane Tucker (Anna), Step grandchildren, John David Sessums, Eric Sessums, Brian Sessums, Lana Lewis (Dustin), Landon Tucker (Jordan) and Austin Tucker. Great grandchildren, Molly Sessums, Emily Sessums, Nathanael Sessums, Noah Sessums, Lyla Lewis, Autumn Lewis and Ella Tucker.
The family is grateful to his caregiver, Loretta Jelks, for the excellent care she gave to Maurice. We would also like to thank all the nurses with Traditions Hospice for watching over him.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home and Memorial Park 1161 Highland Colony Parkway Ridgeland, MS., 39157 Thursday October 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM.
