Max was born June 14, 1964 in Jackson, Mississippi to Isla and C. Max Tullos, Sr. He was graduated from Jackson Preparatory School and Mississippi State University. Max enjoyed a 23-year marriage to Karen Harris Tullos.
Max was a long-time supporter of Boy Scouts of America, having worked for BSA early in his career. In 1996 Max co-founded Southern Telecommunications Company, serving as president.
Max drew strength and comfort from his faith. He was a Lector and active member of the Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and also enjoyed his weekly Men’s Round Table Bible Study.
Max loved all things outdoors, especially his Thursday afternoon golf group. Even when he could no longer play, Max joined his friends in the cart for fellowship. An avid duck hunter, he enjoyed many hunts at his camp in Marks, Mississippi, as well as countless hours fishing and relaxing at his lake house in Vaughn, Mississippi with family and friends.
Most important to Max, though, was his precious family. Wherever his family was, that is where he wanted to be.
He is survived by his parents, his wife, and his children; Claude Max Tullos III and Elizabeth Sims Tullos and his brother, Brian Tullos.
