

Michael Christopher Dangelo, 75, of Madison, MS and formally of Greenwood, MS, peacefully passed away at St. Dominic’s Memorial Hospital on August 13, 2024. Mike was born December 27, 1948 in Shelby, MS to Mike Tony and Rosa Balducci Dangelo. He later moved to Cleveland, MS where he met and married his best friend, Gerri Ricks Dangelo. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was the strong pillar within the family providing unconditional love, support, and strength.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his step-father, Sidney Earle Richmond, Sr.; and his brother, John Rodney Dangelo. Mike is a graduate of Cleveland High School and later earned a degree from Delta State University. He had a fulfilled professional life working in the furniture business, which included sales, management, design and travelling.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, his daughter Ashlee Ricotta (Henry) of Madison, MS; grand-daughter Josie, of Madison, MS; brothers Jerry Dangelo (Mariana) of Sebring, FL and Sidney Earle Richmond, Jr. (Karen) of Little Rock, AR; a sister Becky Richmond White; and several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, celebrating his life here on earth and his return to his heavenly father. The family will begin receiving guest at 10:00 a.m. in the church followed by the mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment of ashes will immediately follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Mike’s name to University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Living Donor Kidney Transplant Research Acceleration Fund. Mike was the recipient of a kidney transplant in 2018 from UAB, and was able to have many more love filled years following this surgery. Also, donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic School in Madison, MS in his name. His granddaughter was the light of his eye and this is where she attends school, therefore he and his wife have been great supporters of the faith based education provided there.
