Michael Angelo Nigro, 72, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2014. Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Wright & Ferguson Parkway, with a memorial service starting at 11:30 a.m.
Mike was born Aug. 31, 1941 in Summit, NJ to Michael and Jeanette Nigro. After graduating from Springfield Regional High School in Springfield, NJ, he attended Seton Hall University where he received a B.A. in Accounting. Mike married his loving wife, Donna, in 1990. He was Vice President and President of Bernstein & Sons Shirt Corp. and Crystal Springs Apparel beginning in the early 1980s until 2008. He recently worked part-time as a field interviewer with RTI International.
He and Donna were members of Covenant Christian Church in Byram, MS, and also attended St. Columb’s Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, MS. They love all their church family very dearly, and God above all.
Mike was an avid golfer, as well as a sports fan. He loved to cheer on any MS State team, especially MSU football, and, of course, Seton Hall basketball. He also very much enjoyed his Wednesday night poker game. His biggest love was spending time with his grandchildren and with his many dear friends and family!
He was preceded in death by his parents: Michael and Jeanette Nigro, and his son: David Peach.
He is survived by his wife: Donna Nigro; son: Michael (Elena) Nigro, III; daughters: Michelle (Chad) Rivas, Debra Courtenay, Holly (Rob) Haralson, Kelly Isbell; son: Doug Peach; grandchildren: Carson, M.J., and Brianna Santiago, and Jon and Georgia Haralson; brothers: Matthew (Sue) Nigro, John (Rosemary) Nigro, and Bruce (Meara) Nigro; his sweet mother-in-law, Janet Vickery, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Dane and Mylissa Vickery, Paul and Christi Balfour, David and Darlene Park, and Harrison and Mollie Spurlock. He adored his many nieces and nephews and had treasured friendships with many, many special friends.
