

Michael Palmer, 65, was called home to the Lord Saturday. He died at home surrounded by his loved ones. Mike was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the parents of Clifton and Velma Palmer where he was raised with his older sister.
After retiring from Illinois Central Railroad, Mike moved to Madison, Mississippi in 1983, where he raised a family with his wife of 39 years. Mike started a carpentry business after moving to Mississippi. He had a passion for building and took great pride in his work. Mike also loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting or just sitting outside on his deck. Mike’s favorite role was spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed greatly by many.
Mike is preceded in death by his son, “Little Mike” and parents. He is survived by wife, Lorraine; children Lori Taylor and Justin Palmer of Mississippi, Clifton Palmer of Montana, Candice Flanders of North Dakota; sister, Patsy Newton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends who loved him greatly.
