Myrna was born on June 11, 1938 in Morton, Mississippi to Leroy Joyner Stuart and Edna Purvis Stuart. She was a faithful member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church where she taught children’s choir. She began singing at the age of three and grew into a music evangelist, singing and spreading the Gospel all over the world. Myrna loved people and serving others. By serving others, she allowed God to use her to bring light and love to those around her. On her trips to sing at revivals around the country, she would always come back with new close friendships. Always smiling, Myrna’s vivacious and outgoing energy made everything fun, and she never met a stranger.
As an artist, she created beautiful drawings and paintings. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Most of all she loved her family and Jesus. A wonderful example of a woman of God, she will leave a legacy of love for others and love for the Lord in her children and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 52 years, Thomas Harvey Hedgepeth, Jr.; son, Robert Alexander Stuart; and brother, Leroy Joyner Stuart, Jr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Angel Rankin (Dan); grandchildren, Laura Leigh Hedgepeth, Anna Christian Solomon (Stephen), William Thomas McLain, and Emma Grace McLain; great grandchildren, Adalynn Joy Solomon and Skylar Belle McLain; and brother, Donnie Lee Stuart (Cynthia).
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
