Nicky Wayne Shelton, 69, died Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the Nichols Center in Madison, MS. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Parkway Funeral Home with burial in Parkway Memorial Park.
Nicky was born in Hazlehurst, MS on June 25, 1951 to Rufus and Nell Shelton. He was a graduate of Wingfield High School and Mississippi College with a degree in Business.
Nicky married his wife, Pat, on July 8, 1988 and was blessed with 3 beautiful step-daughters. He spent many years in the banking industry, but was an entrepreneur in the telecommunications industry for the last 25 years. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church for over 30 years where he spent many of those years working in the Children’s Ministry with his wife.
Nicky was an avid fan of college football and NFL. He loved Elvis and all 70’s and 80’s music. He also loved James Bond and action movies. But his favorite thing was being “Poppa” to his three grandchildren.
Nicky was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rufus and Nell Shelton. Survivors include: wife of 32 years, Pat; step-daughters Angela Mott and husband Chris of Canton, MS, Kim Baker of Nashville, TN, and Jennifer Baker of Columbia, MS; grandchildren Olivia Jacobs and husband Bobby, Alycin Hawkins and husband Kori, and Jeffery Larabee; brother Jerry Shelton and a number of nieces and nephews.
