Norma Jane Draper, May 1, 1929 - January 22, 2019 only child of Clyde Harold and Flota Jane Smith Alexander. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, attended Harris Teacher's College, St. Louis University and Southeast Missouri University in Cape Girardeau and member of Pi Kappa Sigma. Married March 16, 1949 to Edgar Draper, M.D. Ed and Jane lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ft. Worth, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, Wilmette, Illinois, Ann Arbor, Michigan and Jackson, Mississippi for Ed's academic psychiatry career. Ed and Jane loved to travel and especially after his retirement. They visited 49 countries. They especially liked riverboat cruises, The Rhone, The Rhine, The Danube, The Nile and The Yangtze. Jane loved growing flowers and herbs. Jane did a lot of home entertaining throughout Ed's career for students and faculty. And Jane did the all the cooking. Jane fully supported the Women's Southern Golf Association's College Scholarship Fund. Jane was on the Rules Committee and an Honorary Director of Women's Southern Golf Association for 30 years. She was Treasurer and President of The Country Club of Jackson Ladies Golf. Jane was President of Jackson Woman's Senior Golf Association. Jane is survived by her husband, Edgar Draper, M.D., their three children, Susan Jane Draper-Masteller, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Anne Meyers Klevay (Tom), Newberg, Oregon, Neal Edgar Draper (Leah), Clarksdale, Mississippi, and her six grandchildren, Madeline Jane Buyers (Bradley), Jack Edgar Masteller, Alexander James Klevay, Nicholas Jon Klevay, Mary Myers Parks (Andrew), Benton Burris Draper and two great granddaughters Gwyneth Jane and Charlotte Faye Buyers. Sweet Jane had dear cousins that were special to her, Pat and Francis and Jimmy Smith and special friend, Mrs. Earnestine Garner, who took loving care of her and Jonathan Robinson. Funeral services to take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 3 PM at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, MS 39157. Visitation to be held an hour before the funeral.
