On Tuesday, May 11, Ouida Williamson met face to face with the most important person in her life, the Lord Jesus. She had known him since she was 15 years old.

Ouida was born in Pontotoc, MS to David Obadiah and Dora Brown Gilmore nearly 104 years ago. So much life has been packed into those years. Ouida loved her Lord, His church, her family and lived daily in an anticipation of His return.

The Reflections Choir and Grace Bible Study at First Baptist Church of Jackson was an important part of her life. For her 100th birthday, she wanted a well in Africa for those who needed fresh water. Jesus, her living water meant so much to her. She wanted to share not just water but living water.

She is survived by her daughter Kay Little (Chuck) of Madison, son Dan Rankin (Angel) of Brandon; grandchildren, Shane Hendricks, Pat Little (Barri) , April Layton (Chris), Chad Little (Jade), Katie Rankin, Laura Hedgepeth, Anna Solomon (Steve), William McClain and Emma McClain; great grandchildren, Matthew Little (Mandi), Jacob Little, Christopher Layton, Bethanie Sullivan (Wesley) , Kaylin Kirby, Brooke Little, Parker Little, Peyton Little, Razlyn Wylder, Adalynn Solomon and Skylar Dunn; and great great grandchildren, Russel Kirk, Lane Little and Luke Little.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Rankin Hendricks, her husband of 56 years, Pat H. Rankin and her second husband Olaf F. Williamson.

A celebration of her life will be held at Parkway Funeral Home on Saturday at 2PM. Visitation is one hour prior, as well as on Friday from 5 to 7PM.

Ouida was such a Fun, Energetic, and full of life person. I had the delight and honor to give her a “Heavenly Tea “birthday party in her late 90s. We laughed, ate scones, tea sandwiches and birthday cake. She wore a crown and was the queen at the tea.🎂☕️👑
I loved her dearly ❤️ We were in Grace Bible study for many years together. But the most special time was a small prayer group that we were in together. Can wait to see her again one day❣️ Sending my love and prayers to All the family. Charlotte Waller

I was so saddened to learn of sweet Ouida's passing. When I moved to my new location, Ouida was the very first person I met. She was such a fine lady. Such a profound Christian, an inspiration to all who were blessed to be in her presence. She freely shared her love of and faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ. Ever energetic, she amazed me with her uplifting spirit. I treasure the many visits we had.
My heartfelt condolences to her devoted family and her many friends. I rejoice that Ouida has gotten her angel wings and is walking in her heavenly home with her many loved ones and friends who have gone before. Ouida will never be far from my thoughts.

Dear Kay,
I am so sorry but I am out of town. I heard the news about Ouida’s passing from Grace Bible Ladies. I wish I could be there for her celebration of life service. Please know you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know I don’t have to tell you how much I loved Ouida and how much she blessed me. May Jesus wrap His arms around you and give you peace and comfort. Love, Polly

I worked with Mrs. Rankin at Lem Adams law firm. She taught me many things.
That was many years ago, but I appreciated all she did. She was a Christian.
She was a lovely and elegant Lady. I know she has been welcomed to the arms of Jesus.
