Phyllis Mary Ivy DuBose, 83, passed away peacefully February 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She graduated Central High School in 1949 and University of Southern Mississippi in 1953.Phyllis taught history and physical education at Blue Mountain College and Hardy Junior High School and physical education for the nurses at Mississippi Baptist Hospital until 1960. In the mid 70's she took up golf and was a member of Brookwood, Canton and Colonial Country Club and was active with the Mississippi Seniors Golf Association until 2010. She also played in several local bridge clubs including the Wednesday Club held at Jackson Country Club.She was an active member of the Jackson Federation Women's Club, Asgard and the Central 49er's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Maudell Ivy and her husband, Bill DuBose, Jr. after 57 years of marriage. Her survivors include her daughter, Deanine DuBose Bullock and husband, Doug of Brandon, MS and her son, Phillip DuBose and his wife, Cheryl and only grandson, William Garrett DuBose of Collierville, TN.
