

Mildred Ramona Huguley-Hurt was born on April 9, 1929. She grew up with her siblings, Dixie, Billie and Patrick near Monticello, MS and later attended college at the University of Southern MS, where she completed a BA degree in Home Economics. She then found a position working with the Tippah county office in north Mississippi, where she would meet her husband to be, John Lyman Hurt.
She spent a few years in Ackerman, with John, starting a family, before moving to Jackson, where she would live out the rest of her life. She rejoined the workforce in 1971, working for the MS state disability services (DDS), where she had an exemplary career, respected by her peers. She retired from the DDS in 1992.
She was a devout Christian, attending the Colonial Heights Baptist Church, for many years. Her love for family and friends, knew no bounds as she always was there to lend a helping hand, and heal all hearts.
She is survived by her sons, John and William, her daughter in law Suzanne, her grandson Ethan and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Parkway Funeral Home chapel.
