Upon graduating, Bean worked in the family business at J. D.’s One Stop Service, which served as an iconic community business in Jackson. She was well loved by customers and employees, always keeping a cool and happy-go-lucky head in a business that could be stressful at times. Bean was the oldest of nine Fairley siblings and was the unofficial “boss” of her six brothers and two sisters. Growing up, she loved water sports, especially going up the Pearl River and water skiing with family and friends. She was a true animal lover and loved her sweet dogs and always willing to take in a stray dog or cat.
In 1990, Bean met and fell in love with and eventually married Floyd “Fred” Sulser, Jr. Bean and Fred made the perfect couple, and their love and generosity was evident to all who knew them. She was fortunate to have traveled extensively with her husband, and they shared the most wonderful life. They always came back from their travels with special stories and memories and plenty of souvenirs for family and friends.
Bean and Fred were great hosts and loved to entertain friends and family in their home.Together they hosted many birthday parties, weddings and special celebrations in their beautiful home. They were also very active in their beloved church, St. Columb’s Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. They were involved in numerous activities and church ministries, always eager to help by donating time and money. She always cherished her friendships she made through her days playing tennis, volunteering for various non-profits and being a member of the St. Columb’s Daughters of the King.
