Russell David Wright

Russell David Wright, 61, was called to be with the Lord on May 20, 2018 with family and friends at his bedside. He had been cared for by the loving nurses and caregivers at Arcadia Health & Rehab Center and Emerald Coast Hospice in Pensacola, FL for the past several months. Rusty was born and grew up in Jackson, MS where he graduated from Provine High School with honors. He made his home in Pensacola for the past several years and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church there. A sweet and gentle soul, Russ was a prayerful and dedicated member of the Third Order Lay Carmelites group at St. Mary’s. He was loved and admired by all those who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family expresses special love and appreciation to Tametha Ann Blume, a very dear friend who provided a home and family environment for their loved one during his time in Pensacola. Preceded in death by his father, David Earl Wright, he is survived by his mother, Heidi Diane Valadie Wright, brothers Daniel Louis Wright (Karen), Guy Douglas Wright (Cathy), David Lawrence Franklin Wright (Roberta) and James Preston Wright, along with his Aunt Ann Wright Martin and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on May 24, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with a Requiem Mass beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
