Ruth was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, on May 7, 1921, to Nezzie and Luther McIntyre. She graduated from Fort Necessity High School in 1938 as salutatorian of her class. Then she attended Draughn's Business college in Jackson, Mississippi.
Ruth married Lomax in October, 1949. She retired from Fruit Jobbers, Inc. in 1987 after working there for 31 years. She was a member of Jackson Charter Chapter of American Business Women of America; and was Woman of the Year at two different times.
Ruth is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lomax, in 2015, after almost 66 years of marriage.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church on Thursday December 15,2016 at 11:00am where she was a long-time member.
Visitation for Ruth McIntyre Floyd will be held at Parkway Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, on Wednesday Dec. 14, 2016 from 5-7pm and Thursday from 10:00am till 11:00am at the church.
Memorial donations may be made in Ruth's name to St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
