Ruth Day Ringer McNaron Sept. 5.1921-Sept. 6.2018 She was known by her positive attitude, cheerful smile, and selfless encouragement to others. Her ability to make others feel so incredibly special was immeasurable, as she made those she had just met sincerely welcomed. She was born in Ruleville, MS. Graduated Central High School in Memphis 1940 and married Charles Treloar McNaron that year. They moved to Jackson, MS and started Jackson Linoleum Company.
Ruth served as officer of Presbyterian Women, President of MS Presbytery for Women, President Northwoods Exchangette Club, President of Homebuilder’s Auxiliary and an Elder in Briarwood Presbyterian Church where they were founding members. She delivered Meals on Wheels forty years, as she loved serving her community. She guided tours worldwide with the 50 Plus group with Jackson Travel Club. She was a resident of St. Catherine’s for over 22 years to whom the family is grateful for loving her so well.
She was loyal, faithful, gracious and kind. Her compassion for others was boundless. Watching football and golf were among her favorites. Preceded in death by her parents, Barney Henry Ringer and Del Mann Ringer; husband, Charles Treloar McNaron; son, Charles Ringer McNaron. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her friends whom she made feel as family. Survivors include: Esther Lynn (daughter) and Sonny Gallman (Morton), Connor and Shireen, Maxine and Cole Herrington (Atlanta); Todd and Tamara, Bailey and Blake Herrington. The family will receive friends at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland Sunday, September 9, 4-6 pm. A private graveside service is planned. Donations can be made in her honor to The Employee Caring Fund at St. Catherine’s Village. 200 Dominican Drive, Madison, MS 39110.
