Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Friday and 2 - 3 p.m., Saturday at Parkway Funeral Home located on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral Services will be held at Parkway at 3 p.m., Saturday. Burial will take place Monday in Kosciusko, MS.
Mrs. Oliver was born in Attala County in 1929 to James Frank Peeler and Ruby Naomi Pender Peeler and attended French Camp Academy. She later moved with her family to Kosciusko, MS. She was married to William N. Oliver, Jr. in 1951. She lived in Ruleville and Grenada, before moving to Jackson in 1966. She was active for many years in the pre-school ministries at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Jackson and was affectionately known at “MS JIM” by the many children she helped while serving there.
Sally Jim was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Mississippi State University Bulldogs and enjoyed attending MSU sporting events. She was loved by friends and family for her cheerful, outgoing manner.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Peggy Ward.
Survivors include her brother Percy Peeler (Hilda), her son William F. Oliver (Delynn), daughters Susan Easley, and Tracy Farmer (Michael), six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
