

Sherry M. Wilkerson, age 59, died Monday, May 24, 2010 at her residence in Madison. Services will be today, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Madison with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 3:00 PM at Daleville Cemetery in Daleville, MS.
Mrs. Wilkerson was born on March 9, 1951 in Jackson, MS. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Madison and was a member of the Merry Bells (hand bell choir). Mrs. Wilkerson was employed as the Chief Accountant with the Mississippi House of Representatives for 27 years.
Mrs. Wilkerson was the first Mississippi High School Rodeo Queen and was the First Dixie National Rodeo Queen. She won numerous awards barrel racing and with her cutting horses. She was truly a Christian and was a witness for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father John Joseph Mackey.
Surviviors include her mother, Connie Shuttleworth, husband Jerry Wilkerson, son John Mitchell and his wife Deanna, daughter Joanna Rayner and her husband Chris. Step-son Steve Wilkerson and his wife Rena and a step-daughter Stephanie Hatcher and her husband Kevin. Nine grandchildren, John Mackey Mitchell, Jonathan Thomas Card, Guy Rayner, Christian Rayner, Brooke Rayner, Tara Wilkerson, Leo Wilkerson, Leslie Hatcher and Madison Hatcher.
