

Sidney A. Robinson, Jr., 93, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday night, February 13, 2016. He was a resident of The Orchard in Ridgeland, MS for many years. He faithfully ministered to his wife, Marion Robinson, at the Orchard Nursing home through her illness. Visitation will be at Parkway Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Tuesday the 16th of February from 5 pm to 8 pm. An internment service will be held at 9 am at Parkway Memorial Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at First Presbyterian Church on North State Street at 10:30 am on Wednesday, the 17th of February. The family will also have visitation from 10 am till 10:30 am before the service at the church.
Sidney was born July 6th 1922 in Jackson, Ms. He graduated from Central High School in 1940 and completed his degree from Ole Miss in 1944. While in high school he met his “sweet heart” Marion Howard and they were married in 1943. They were married for over 65 years. Sidney enlisted in the Army upon completion of ROTC and Officers Training School. He served as First Lieutenant in England in the Quartermaster Corp. At the conclusion of the war they returned to Oxford to compete his law degree at Ole Miss.
He owned and operated his family business Robinson Brothers Motor Cars for many years. He also was President of a joint family company that developed Westland Plaza shopping center. He served on numerous boards including Trustmark National Bank and Belhaven College. Near to his heart was the faithful preaching of God’s Word having been one of the original board members of Reformed Theological Seminary. He was a Ruling Elder of First Presbyterian Church until his death.
He was a man who believed in God and Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. He lived his life focusing on 2 verses, Luke 10:27 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself” and John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” He exemplified both of these verses throughout his life.
His faithful saying of “it is all about Jesus” was proclaimed to all he came in contact with. He never failed to share his faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Romans 8:28 was often found on his lips as he proclaimed God’s Faithful Grace in our lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sidney A Robinson, Sr. and Elta A. Robinson, his wife Marion Howard Robinson and his sister Elta R. Posey,as well as grandson Sidney A. (Blue) Robinson, IV . He is survived by his children Sidney A. Robinson, III, Craig Robinson (Vicki) and Dalton Thomas (Phil). He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
