Mr. Vinson was born June 16, 1925 in Arkabutla, MS to Thomas Askew and Neely Harrison Vinson. He was a World War II veteran, local business owner and active member of Wells United Methodist Church.
Mr. Vinson is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Clyde and Zadie, and one brother, Jim. Survivors include his wife of 60 (almost) years Jean Knighten Vinson of Jackson, son Tom Vinson and his wife Betty of Madison, daughter Helen Page of Lake Charles, LA, son Robert Vinson of Jackson and granddaughter Katherine Vinson of Madison.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at Wells United Methodist Church, 2019 Bailey Avenue, Jackson, MS. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery on Highland Colony Parkway under the direction of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Well United Methodist Church.
