

Trudy Hoffman Draughn of Clinton passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. She is survived by her son, James Batson Draughn III (Milana) of Milton, GA; her daughter, Eleanor Draughn Regan (Mark) of Aldie, VA; her granddaughter, Anastasia Gertrude Hoffman of Washington, DC; and her grandson, Maximilian Andrew Draughn of Milton, GA. Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, James Batson Draughn Jr., and her parents.
Trudy was born in Walterboro, SC, and was a member of the 1962 graduating class at Walterboro High School. She went on to obtain a degree in elementary education at Coker College in Hartsville, SC, in 1966.
Trudy was teaching in Columbia, SC, when she met her husband, Jim. They settled in Jackson, MS, where she taught in the Jackson Public School System. She taught third grade at McLeod and Dawson Elementary and was a substitute teacher at Spann, Casey, and McLeod Elementary over the years.
Trudy was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a USA swimming official when her children swam for Sunkist Swim Team and a volunteer official for Briarwood Swim Team when they did summer swimming. Trudy loved working in her gardens and tending to her roses.
