
Virginia Mae Eaton was born to Edith Justice Eaton and Wade Young Eaton, on April 6, 1925 in Hammond, LA. The family settled later in Clinton, MS where Virginia was educated and earned a degree in biology from Mississippi College. Virginia met and married Perrin L. Berry, Jr, through a blind date set up by her sister.
Mrs. Berry was a lifelong member of Redeemer church (formerly Trinity Presbyterian). She was also a beloved resident of The Waterford during her later years in life.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Perrin L. Berry, Jr., and her parents, Wade and Edith Eaton.
Mrs. Berry leaves her children, Mrs. Betty Hindman (Mike), Thomas E. Berry (Betsy), and Mrs. Mary Dent (Tommy), as well as her sister, Mrs. Pauline Collins (Charles), two nephews and niece, and sister-in-law, Dr. Mary Tom Berry. She also leaves beloved grandchildren, Thomas Dent III (Christina), Dr. T. Joel Berry (Jenny), Mrs. Lauren Ammons (Clifford), Mrs. Kayla Truitt (J.P.), and Jillian Dent who all lovingly called her Mamena. Mrs. Berry was also the great grandmother of three little boys whom she adored.
The family thanks Mrs. Berry’s doctor, Dr. Dan Woodliff and his nurse, Kate, as well as Hospice Ministries staff and volunteers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Redeemer School, Palmer Home for Children, or Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland.
Visitation will take place December 8th at Redeemer Church from 11:30 to 1:30...followed by a private graveside service. Rev. H. Cobb Ware and Dr. Michael Campbell will conduct the celebration of life for Mrs. Berry.
