Walker Thomas Wilbanks, 17, passed away Monday August 25, 2014 at University Medical Center. Visitation will be 5-7:30pm Thursday August 28, 2014 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Jackson. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday August 29, 2014 in the church Sanctuary. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Walker was a Junior at Jackson Preparatory School, and a member of the football, baseball and track teams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Wilbanks. Survivors include his parents, David and Sheila Wilbanks of Jackson; brother, Landon Wilbanks; paternal grandmother, Marjorie Wilbanks of Jackson; maternal grandparents, Margie and Gerald Jayroe of Byram; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Walker Wilbanks Scholarship Fund, c/o Jackson Preparatory School, 3100 Lakeland Dr., Flowood, MS 39232.
