Services will be Friday, November 17, 2023 at Parkway Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin one hour prior.
James was born in Yazoo County on January 6, 1933 to the late Wallace James Smithhart, Sr. and Evie Martin Smithhart. After graduating from high school, he served in the Air Force. He retired from Mississippi Chemical after 38 years. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Madison, where he was a deacon. He and Sue enjoyed traveling to Branson, MO and playing dominoes and sequence with their friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dorothy Louise Smithhart.
He is survived by his wife, Dora Sue Webb Smithhart; his daughter, Jan Adams (Chris); son, Wallace “Bubba” Smithhart; sister, Nancy Massey (Sonny); three grandchildren, Christopher Smithhart, Elizabeth Johnston (Zach) and Kayla Legons (Lance); and six great grandchildren.
