She was a graduate of East Central Junior College and received an Accounting Certificate from Belhaven. Grace married John H. Houston and together they had one daughter, Phyllis R. Houston. Grace retired from the State of MS after many years as a Tax Auditor with the State Tax Commission. She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she attended the J.T. Griffin Bible Class and was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Women. Grace was also a member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) Annandale Chapter, Madison, MS. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting, and working in her flower beds.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Phyllis; a brother, Forest Fulton (June) of Philadelphia, MS; sisters, Bobbie Cannon of Philadelphia, MS and Shirley Fulton (Granville) of Madison, MS; a sister-in-law, Camille Fulton of Louisville, MS; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Houston; her parents, Virgie and Harvey Fulton; her brothers, GW Fulton, Glen Fulton, Grady Fulton; and a sister, Frances Jarvis.
Funeral services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made in Grace F. Houston’s name to Christ United Methodist Church or Millsaps College. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tim Cannon and the staff at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center for their kindness and care toward Grace.
