

Bill was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on December 13, 1946, to Harvey and Gladys Crawford. He grew up in Vicksburg and attended H.V. Cooper High School, graduating in 1965. He received a track scholarship to Mississippi State University, after setting the state record for the 100 yard dash. Bill was an American patriot, having served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was also a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. After graduating in 1969, he began a career in the insurance business that lasted forty-four years. As an insurance agent, he was well respected for his integrity and vast product knowledge. He retired from his association with The Wellington Agency after twenty-four years of service. Bill loved the outdoors. His favorite past times were hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Bill leaves behind many good friends and will be remembered for his positive attitude and faith in God. He was former Chairman of Deacons at Highland Colony Baptist Church and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
He will live in the memories of his family and friends as a devoted husband to his wife Sue, and a loving father to William and Ashley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Harvey Crawford. Survivors are his wife, Sue Curtis Crawford; son William Crawford (Amy) of Evergreen, CO; daughter, Ashley Brantley (Jeff) of Ridgeland, MS; two stepdaughters, Claudette Murphree of Austin, TX; Madalyn Connor of Brandon, MS; and five grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan Crawford; Elizabeth Castle and Mason Brantley; and Katelyn Connor.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home on Friday, June 24th from 5:00-7:00 and Saturday from 9:30-10:30, preceding the funeral service at 10:30. Graveside service will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
