William Gillis Luckett, 62, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at St. Dominic’s Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson, MS, preceded by visitation at 10 am at the church. Burial will follow in the Canton City Cemetery.
Bill was born in Jackson, MS to William Joseph and Myrtle Gillis Luckett on Oct. 30, 1956. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1974. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated from Millsaps College. Bill spent his professional career as a Systems Administrator and worked for many years at Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in Jackson. As a member of St. Richard’s Boy Scout Troop 30, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed woodworking and was an award-winning photographer. He will be missed for his gentle spirit and wry humor.
He is survived by his wife, Christiane, son, Adam Thomas, sisters, Mamie Balestra and Rosie Wenstrup, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, his aunt, Mary Ann Luckett Reynaud and cousins Ann and Sid Reynaud.
