Winnie Kay Reinhardt

April 21, 1939July 24, 2020

Winnie Kay Reinhardt passed away peacefully in the presence of her children on Friday July 24, 2020. She was a resident of Beau Ridge Memory Care Facility in Ridgeland, MS. She was suffering from the end stages of dementia.

Winnie Kay was born in Wilson, North Carolina on April 21, 1939. She and her family moved to Pensacola, Florida. She met the love of her life there, Ray Reinhardt, and they moved to Jackson, MS in 1971. They opened World's Bedspreads, later known as Ray's Fine Linens. They worked side by side for over 35 years and made a great team together.

Winnie Kay loved Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church and was a member from the beginning. She was very involved with Bethany Christian Services, as a foster mom of over 50 babies and a board member. She was also involved with Joni and Friends ministry. Winnie Kay always put others before herself. A true example of loving and caring for others as she lived out her Christian belief and faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Reinhardt, her parents, Red and Eunice Warren, her sister and brother in law, Mack and Dot Lucas.

She is survived by her children Christy Adcock (Mitchell), Wendy Herring (Lee), Randy Reinhardt (Shari) and Matthew Reinhardt all from the surrounding area. Winnie Kay leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and a nephew and niece from Macon, GA.

The family would like to thank Beau Ridge Memory Care Facility for caring for her for 2 years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church (Ridgeland, MS), Life Line (Jackson, MS), Joni and Friends (Ridgeland, MS) or Beau Ridge Memory Care Facility (Ridgeland, MS)

Burial will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS. The family will have a private family service at a later date due to the corona virus concerns.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Reinhardt children. Mrs. Winnie Kay was the sweetest person. I spent many hours in her home and in her car. She was a dear neighbor that treated me like one of her own. She and Mr. Ray were the epitome of Christian love .

A woman who taught me so many life lessons through an incredible relationship our family's were blessed to have for a very long time. Today, 20 years later, I still sleep on the set of sheets they gave me as a wedding gift. I have always thought of them when I use them......as I do many of my wedding gifts. Most importantly I appreciate the advice she gave me on my desire for adoption, "just love the child and remember God doesn't make mistakes". Well done good and faithful servant Winnie Kay, well done. You have left a special place in our hearts and a vacancy on earth. Prayers for all your loved ones.

Loved Winnie Kay. Her sister, Dot Lucas was my sister in law. We had many fun times, but the one I remember best was when
We went to the Ozarks.
She was always thoughtful and loving. When my mother died she brought her mother to the funeral and that was a long trip.
Thankful she is now well and happy in the presence of our Lord and all her loved ones.
Love to each of you.

I dearly loved Winnie Kay. She, along with Ray, gave thousands of hours as faithful volunteers with Bethany Christian Services during the 29 years that I worked there. Winnie Kay loved her family and loved all babies - born and unborn. Well done Winnie Kay. I’ll see you again.
Much love and prayers to your sweet family, Karen Stewart
