David Ip, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at his home in Meridian. He was born July 29, 1933, in Canton China, to Chow Fung Kam and Kai Chong Ip.
David came to America over 50 years ago pursuing a better life for his wife and their future family. He and his wife Sandy owned Hawaiian Delight, a restaurant in downtown Meridian, for almost 20 years where they shared their love of food with the community. He was a determined man and an incredibly hard worker who was known to those around him as sweet and endearing. David had a deep love for his family, and considered his children and grandchildren his greatest accomplishments.
He is survived by his children, Garrett and Gregory; and his grandchildren Paige and Eli. Family, friends, and others whose lives David touched are invited to the Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy. in Ridgeland, MS, for a visitation at 2 p.m. with a graveside memorial to follow on November 11 to celebrate David’s life.
