

Zeb was born in Hinds County on October 14, 1932 to Johnnie and PZ Jones. He graduated from Central High School and attended Ole Miss.
He was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson where he faithfully attended and served as usher.
During his college years, he served in the Korean War, and after returning, he completed his degree as well as attending Law School. He practiced Law with the Barnett Law Firm, as well as being Assistant DA for a time, then entered private practice for the remainder of his Law Career. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity while at Ole Miss.
He was actively involved with the MS Bar Association as well as a founding Board member of the Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
Above all of that, he was best known for his integrity and being a “Man of his word”.
He enjoyed his retirement years in “the country” as well as time with Family and a number of his Best “furrfriends”.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Josephine; daughter Nancy McDill (John); granddaughters Mary Jordan Lamar (Willem), and Allison Barnes (Brian); great grandchildren Ava Lenoir Lamar, Molly Lamar, and Davis Barnes; and sister Molly Lea (Clark).
A private graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial in Jackson at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6.
In lieu of flowers, charities close to Zeb’ heart were The Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital and Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
