Margaret Gracie Hairston

Margaret Gracie Hairston, 74, of 1352 John Baker Road, Fieldale, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Henry County on November 30, 1936 to the late Calvin H. Hairston and Nonie H. Hairston. She was of the Apostolic Faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline H. Saunders and one brother, Calvin Q. Hairston.

Surviving are four sisters, two of which were her devoted caregivers for the past 28 years; her sisters, Mary Ann Hairston and Jackie Hairston both of Fieldale, Louise Gravely of Bassett and Betty Ruth Chughtai of New York City, NY, one brother, Reginald Hairston of Bassett, two nephews, Gregory A. Hairston and a great nephew, Matthew A. Hairston both of the home, two uncles, Harold Hairston of Bassett and Ed Hairston of Martinsville, several nieces and nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Booker T. Hairston Family Cemetery on Out A Way drive, Bassett with Director Kelly Ratcliff officiating. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to services at graveside.
