Ruby Odell Hill

Ruby Edith Odell Hill., 89, of 918 Carol Street, Martinsville, died Friday, November 25, 2011 at Roanoke Memrial Hospital. She was born in Floyd on December 5, 1921 to the late Robert Bently Odell and Millie Duncan Odell. She had worked over ten years with Woolsworth and later retired after four years working with Hamco as a garment inspector. She was a member of the Rich Acres Ruitan and American Legion Post 42 Ladies Auxillary.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Hill, one daughter, Helen Rebecca Davis and one son, Robert Warren Hill.

Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Hill Brooks of Ringgold, three sons, Edwin Eugene “Butch” Hill of Madison Heights Larry Rand Hill of Lacke Stevens, WA., and Garnett Cecil Hill of Martinsville, one brother, Tazwell Odell of Hiwassee and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Roselawn Burial Park with Kelly Ratcliff officiating. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service.
