

Sandra Lee Minter Johnson, 69, of 205 Franklin Street, South Hill, Virginia, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the residence of her daughter. She was born in Henry Co. on December 30, 1942 to the late Walter “ED” Edward Minter and Vivian Alise Adkins Minter. She was retired as a file clerk for APT Footwear and Forms of Bassett Walker and VF Knitting. She was a member of the American Red Cross, Scout Leader for the Girls Scouts and was a member of the Historical Society.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Johnson.
Surviving are her daughter, Laurie Ann Johnson Malone of South Hill, one son Gary Wayne Johnson of Martinsville, three sisters, Sharon Minter Sargent of Eden, NC, Shawn Lynn Minter Harbour and Sally Linda Minter Courage both of Martinsville, one brother, Ralph Edward Minter of New Hampshire and four grandchildren, Nicolas Todd Malone, Christopher James Johnson, Autumn Alise Johnson and Alannah Star Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held 4:00p.m. Monday July 9, 2012 in the chapel of Community Funeral Service with Kelly G. Ratcliff officiating, interment will follow in the Minter Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the chapel of Community Funeral Services beginning at 3p.m.
