Alberta Lee Miller was born August 14, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Elmer and Margaret Blume. She was the youngest of 6 children. Alberta grew up on the family farm in Cuba, Missouri, giving her a lifelong love of all kinds of plants and animals. She married John Miller, the love of her life, in January of 1952 before graduating from high-school in June of that year. Alberta and John started their family with the birth of their first son In 1954. After having three more children, they decided to move from Missouri to Alhambra, California in 1961. Alberta worked for the Alhambra School District while raising her family on Pepper St. They attended Calvary Chapel church and were very involved with the congregation.
After retirement, Alberta and John moved to Norco, California where they started Rainbow Bird Ranch and raised different kinds of parrots. Alberta enjoyed bowling and reading, listening to gospel music and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John Henry, son John Daniel, granddaughter Stephanie Lynn and her sisters Anita, Eleanor and Gloria and her brother Robert. Alberta is survived by her brother Donald, son Jerry Paul, daughter Kathleen Anita Ellsworth, son Larry Dennis, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
She passed away peacefully at home and went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2018. Alberta will be missed by all whose lives she touched and all who love her.
