He graduated from North High School in Riverside. Big Al was a concrete contractor and referred to himself as a "Cementologist." He also worked at Kaiser Steel.
Alexander is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rita Martinez; daughter DeAnna Woodcock of Lake Port, California; sons Alex Martinez Jr. of Riverside, California, Inez Martinez of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Mario Martinez of Riverside; brother David Martinez (Susan); nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Amada and Ramon Martinez and brothers Ray John Martinez and Tito Martinez.
