I was stationed with Art at Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity, Long Beach, CA. We were some of the first sailors assigned to the unit. Because there weren't many of us the first  months, we hung out together pretty much every night. We always had a great time and Art was always happy and smiling. I kept in contact with him for a bit. I believe it was about 15 years ago when he didn't reply to an email I sent him. I miss him as he was a good friend and great shipmate. 

I'm so sorry to hear the news of the passing of my Dear Friend
Art. I loved your brother very much. I will always think about
our dates to the Riverside Cematary.  He loved to look at all those headstones!  What a love of a friend. I felt blessed he was in my life for many years.  Great amazing Man. One of the best fathers. That  was Art. How he loved and cherished Amber. Art was loved by so many people. I pray he wasn't alone as he passed. But we all know he is in Heaven. In the arms of our Heavenly Father. To you my Buddy and very loved friend. For many years.!! I love you ART!!XO
