Barbara Louise Crisler

Barbara Louise Crisler, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, in Riverside, California. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final days.

Born on March 20, 1933, in New Albany, Indiana, to Anna Louise Grimes Connor and James Luther Connor, Barbara spent her formative years in Torrance, California. In 1954, she met Joseph Tucker Sr., and they were married shortly thereafter, sharing 22 years of marriage.

Barbara dedicated her career to education, working for the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, Desert Sands Unified School District, and Riverside Unified School District. Following her retirement, she found immense joy in volunteering for over two decades as the Travel Coordinator for the Janet Goeske Senior Center Travel Department in Riverside.

In late 1999, Barbara met Robert Crisler during a trip to the Canadian Rockies. Their love flourished despite the challenges of distance, and they married on October 21, 2000. Together, they built a vibrant life in Riverside and shared a passion for travel that took them to destinations including Ireland, Italy, China, Mexico, Canada, and across the United States.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents; her sisters Diane Uribe and Phyllis Connor; and her grandson Keith Tucker. She is survived by her husband, Robert Crisler, sons Michael Tucker (Joan) and Joe Tucker (Shelley); her daughter Renee Lorah; five grandchildren—Katie Gladish, Danny Tucker, Amy Rigby, Tiffany Citizen, and Krystina Lorah; and seven great-grandchildren—Logan Gladish, Parker Gladish, Nikayla Lorah, Travis Tucker, Jace Tucker, Cole Rigby, and Nora Rigby.

A graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on January 16, 2025, at 2:15 p.m., under the care of Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Janet Goeske Foundation & Senior Center in Barbara’s memory.
