I had the privilege of being caregiver to both Alan and Birdie 2013 - 2014.  Even though it's been some years,  I never forgot "Miss Birdie". She was a comfort to me during a difficult time in my own life and I think of her with fondness. I know its silly, but there is a certain hand soap that when I come across it, the smell takes me right back to her kitchen in Riverside and our chats.  I also can't pass a Hallmark store without being reminded of her.  Alan was lovely too and I remember that every time they passed each other in the house, at that time, it was via wheelchair, he would always want to kiss his beautiful bride.  Always reminded me of my own parents. My condolences and kind regards to the Powell family.  Suzixo.
