Dr. Casper Jacob Schichtle, Jr., Col. USAF, (Ret.) went to be with the Lord and reunite with his beloved Linda Lee on July 21, 2021 at age 81. Cass was born to Casper and Rosemary Schichtle on February 17, 1940 in Tulsa, OK. The eldest of three boys, he was raised on a farm and excelled in school as an A-student and gifted athlete. Cass met his wife, Linda Womack, while classmates at Coffeyville High School in Kansas. They married on December 26, 1961 and had six children, Julia, Christine, Mark, Nicholas, Matthew and Cassie. A career officer in the USAF for 27 years, he retired in 1988, holding the rank of Colonel, and continued an illustrious space aeronautics career as a contractor with Lockheed- Martin, Sverdrup, NASA and the USAF at Cape Canaveral, FL before retiring on his 60th birthday, Feb 17th, 2000. He held an unwavering belief in God, prioritizing a private Catholic education for his children and a marriage union founded in faith.
Cass is survived by his children, Julia, Christine, Mark, Nicholas, Matthew, Cassie and their spouses, as well as his grandchildren, Jillianne, Carina, Margaret, Caitlyn, Keaver, Kimberly, Jeremy, Julia, Casper III, Luke, Sariana and their spouses and his great-grandchildren Rosalee, Nora, Tucker, Noelle, Branton and Aowynn, and by his brothers, David and Henry and their spouses and children
