

Charlene Joy Mundorf Dolim passed away peacefully at the age of 74 at her home in Redondo Beach, California, on December 31, 2016. Charlene had been suffering from the effects of throat cancer treatment for several years and finally succumbed to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia.
Charlene was a California native, born in Alhambra and raised first in the San Fernando Valley and later in Manhattan Beach. She graduated from Mira Costa High School in 1960 and attended Pepperdine College for a short time. On December 17, 1966, she married Henry "Hank" Dolim, Jr., a USAF Pilot. Together they spent over twenty years in various locations both in the United States and overseas. Son Scott was born in April, 1969, and Son "Tony" in March, 1971, both at Williams AFB in Arizona. Son David was born in June, 1975, at Homestead AFB in Florida.
In November, 1986, Hank retired from the Air Force and the family moved back to California settling in Rancho Palos Verdes. Charlene attended California State University at Dominguez Hills and graduated with a degree in Psychology. In 2000, Charlene found her "dream" home in Redondo Beach - a beautiful condo overlooking "her" ocean. She and Hank moved in and lived happily together celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on December 17th just before she passed away.
Charlene was preceded in death by her father, Charles Mundorf and her mother, Geraldine Howard Mundorf, both of Manhattan Beach, California. She is survived by her husband Henry P. Dolim, Jr., and three sons and their families; Scott Dolim and his wife Anthea of Mountain View, California; Anthony Dolim and his wife Mui, along with their two children, Sean and Isabella, of Manhattan Beach; and David Dolim and his partner, Robert Aitchison, of Los Angeles. She also leaves her brother, Terry Mundorf and his wife Marina of Seattle, Washington, as well as their daughter Gretchen and her husband Ryan Neale also of Seattle.
