Charles Roger Bevins

He grew up in Quimby, Iowa. Charles married the love of his life, LaNeltia Pauline Wunschel on April 11,1954. They were married for 65 years.

Mr. Bevins was a B-29 aircraft mechanic for the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his military service he worked as a meat cutter for several different grocery chains for 35 years. He was a hard worker, as he was also a tree trimmer on his days off from cutting meat. After Chuck retired at the age of 62, he began his love of restoring 1950's and 1960's era Chevrolet automobiles. He taught himself how to rebuild engines, do body work, and even paint his own classics. He restored a total of twelve classic Chevrolets. He was a member of the Classic Chevys of Riverside for many years. He loved participating in the car shows, making life long friends, and spending hours restoring classic Chevys in his garage.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, LaNeltia, a son, Kevin Bevins (Dorrie) of Apple Valley; three daughters, Kimberly Koch (Glen) of Temecula, Kay Muehlig (Casey) of Riverside, and Kelly Hale (Patrick) of Riverside; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren with one on the way.

A visitation for Charles will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A reception will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A burial will occur at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, California 92505.

Serving as pallbearers are Fred Gaston, Zachary Bevins, Glen Koch, Bob Grimm, Patrick Hale and Casey Muehlig.
