Charles Ray Christy, age 71, of Menifee, California passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 from Cancer. Charles was born to Patricia Joan McKeighen and Dennie Christy on February 2, 1952 in Muncie, Indiana. Charles graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1970. He attended Ball State University for a year before pursuing music. He was an avid drummer and played in several bands including Roosevelt Johnson & The 7-C’s and Brothers Supreme. When he was 20-years-old, Charles moved to California. He worked for U.S. Aluminum for 35 years until he retired in 2010.
In his free time, Charles enjoyed golf, tennis, riding his golf cart in his neighborhood, live music, love of nature and animals especially his cats Rozey and Mitzy, landscaping, Mexican food, and spending time with family. Charles was passionate about helping others and he liked taking care of others and making sure everyone was happy.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Joan McKeighen, father Dennie Christy, brother Barney Willard III and nephew Barney Willard IV.
Charles is survived by his wife Kathy Christy (Morrell), daughters Melissa Christy (Erica), Kim Jackson (Jeff), and son David Christy (Maria); grandsons Daniel Mojica (Kayla), Jeremiah Wilson, Charles Christy, Lyle Christy, Eli Christy; great-grandson Malachi Mojica and great-granddaughter Marlee Mojica; step-children Natalie Reyes, Paul Garcia, Leslie Perez; step-grandchildren Jesse, Andrew, Nick, Gabriel, Dylan; brother David Willard (Whitney) and sister Wanda Spranger (Paul).
