Clara C. Aguilera, 94, passed away peacefully and went home to the Lord on May 12, 2026.
Born in Hurley, New Mexico, on August 12, 1931, Clara was the daughter of Ramon Castillo and Guadalupe Ramirez Castillo, and later her loving stepmother, Mary Pena Castillo. She married her high school sweetheart, Salvador Aguilera, on July 28, 1951. Soon after their marriage, the couple relocated to Riverside, California, to build a future for their family.
Clara’s life was defined by her devotion to her family. She was a lifelong learner, a health advocate and yoga enthusiast, and a gifted gardener. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, where she lovingly cooked for her family for decades.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvador Aguilera; her brother, Nicolas Castillo; and her sisters, Corina Baca, Consuelo Garcia, and Alicia Robertson.
Clara's legacy lives on through her children, Cecilia (Sissy) Cedillo, Dr. Samuel Aguilera, and Catherine Nava (Robert); her grandchildren, Teresa Casas, Jose Nava, Cecilia Sandoval, Nicholas Sandoval, Kassandra Aguilera (Cesar Rivas), Sabrina Aguilera, and Ellianna Aguilera; her great-grandchildren, Adriane Calderas (Sal), Jose Nava, Alaina Coe, and Eric Nava; and her great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Coe, Michael Nava, Evelyn Calderas, Maddox Nava, Mia Nava, and Ava Calderas.

Rosary & Funeral Mass:
Monday, June 1, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 2858 9th Street, Riverside
Rosary at 10:00 a.m.
Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
Private burial will be held at a later date.
